Trapeza (τραπέζα) means ‘table’ or ‘supper’ in Greek and we use the term to refer to our “Agape Meal” (αγαπαις) that follows the Divine Liturgy on Sunday. This is a meal for the Faithful who have worshipped together during the Liturgy. All parishioners of St. John the Wonderworker volunteer for one of several “Trapeza Teams,” each of which takes turns assuming responsibility for the purchase and preparation of food, set-up, service, and clean-up. Meals may be simple or elaborate, howsoever each team desires. But each meal is offered in the spirit of Christian hospitality, service, and love.
